WELCOME RASSIES

The word "Rassie" is the name I have given my group of supporters. It's similar to "Swifties" the fan group of Taylor Swift. So, in essence, you are my fans. So, wear the title "Rassie" with pride. Not many people can say that they have earned that title.

In August 2021, I officially finished my missionary service. At the conclusion of my two years, many individuals who read my emails consistently shared with me that they would miss my weekly emails. I’ve thought for the past two years of how I could bring those back and I thought of a monthly email that I could send to update all of you on my life, share quotes/scriptures, poetry/writing pieces, etc.

This is how I decided to format these monthly updates! It's a format that allows me to share stories coherently and isn't a thick-bodied email where you have to scroll into the abyss of a gmail text box.

I get more joy of typing this up than hearing your responses! However, please respond to this email with your own insights, questions, stories you'd like to hear, etc. I am always looking to grow and become a better writer. It will not offend me if you find these utterly annoying and stupid. Or, if you absolutely love them and would like bi-weekly updates that could be a plan in the future!

The idea behind this newsletter came partially because people missed my emails. The other reason was because when I met up with friends I haven't seen in a while, the question, "what is new with you?" is a difficult question to answer! So, this acts as a way for me to update you with what is happening with me, so when we meet up in the future we can chat a little more about specific updates and I can hear more about you! So, if you like to respond with some updates in your life, please do so. I would love to read them.

Month of Love

This month can be especially hard for those who don't have much love in their lives. Or, they are still single. For me, my pattern of love has been difficult and it's hard to see my married friends spending time with their significant others when I don't have one myself. Being gay is difficult in Utah. Adding being an active gay LDS makes it even more difficult because I am compared to how the church has acted towards LGBTQ+ and I am instantly held to a standard or belief that I don't agree with.  When I've met other gay men, it's been difficult for them to accept my beliefs and the fact that I still am active. They can't get past the fact I have a belief system and that I continue to go when it's difficult. Dating has been hard for me in general....and I've felt inadequate and unable to have love in my life multiple times. I highly encourage you to reach out to those who identify in the LGBTQ+ community and make sure they feel loved.  Everyone des...

I Ditch Making Cookies To Sell Skincare For Men

I needed to get a big boy job that would benefit me more than trying to sell a cookie. As many of you know, I started working for a cookie company in September. It was a temporary position while I looked for a PR job or something remote. It took me several months to find a job that seemed interesting and applied to what I am studying in college. I found a job opportunity and was hired by the end of the week. The company is called Mox and it's a skincare company dedicated to strengthening men's skin through their 100% natural products. If you don't know, I love skincare products. I have a small routine that I do myself and I couldn't help but jump on this opportunity. I am a marketing specialist and I will be mainly helping coordinate collaborations with influencers and celebrities. We are currently discussing a deal with Chris Evans! This job is completely remote and pays more than the cookie shop! So, I am excited to get more experience and meet so many amazing in...

"I'M HAPPY, FREE, CONFUSED AND LONELY IN THE BEST WAY..."

22 is a milestone that I’ve been waiting for ever since I listened to Taylor Swift’s album Red for the first time on the way to my Great Grandma’s house to pick her up for my piano recital. This song has been deeply rooted in my life and has been a song that I have sung over and over as I have patiently waited for the time to use my favorite lyric from 22. The number “22” is a sign of good luck or of positive things to come. As I am learning to not look back or forward, but be present, I am excited to figure out what positive things are coming my way. The number “17” is the only prime number that is the sum of four consecutive primes. Seventeen is a sign that you need to let go of things that are holding you back. I’ve made it a goal this year to focus on myself more and care for my body.
